WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Fairfield County Airport will undergo renovations thanks to new federal resources. U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced that new federal resources were awarded to improve safety at the Fairfield County Airport. The U.S. Department of Transportation funds, administered by the Federal Aviation Administration, will be used to acquire land for airport development projects, conduct a planning and safety evaluation, and rehabilitate the runway.

“Ohio businesses and visitors depend on safe and efficient operations at the Fairfield County Airport,” Brown said. “This funding will ensure safety for flights departing from and arriving to Lancaster.”

The Fairfield County Airport Authority and Fairfield County Commissioners will receive $150,000 to make these improvements.

The Fairfield County Airport, located in Lancaster, is publicly owned and serves approximately 118 flights daily.
