WASHINGTON, DC – The Mary Rutan Hospital will be able to expand services as a result of new federal resources. U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced that the Mary Rutan Hospital, a medical center serving the Logan and surrounding counties, received new resources from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to support and develop primary care health services.
“Health centers around Logan County – like the Mary Rutan Hospital – play a vital role in helping Ohioans obtain access to primary and preventive health care services,” said Brown. “These economic development resources help provide affordable and accessible health care to Bellefontaine’s children, seniors, parents, and patients who rely on quality care in their local communities.”
Community health centers in central Ohio are a critical source of economic growth and local employment. The clinic will provide care to all patients, regardless of income.
Allocated through the Affordable Care Act, Health Center Planning Grants will provide $78,942 to the Bellefontaine-based organization. The hospital employs over 700 Ohioans in the area.
