WASHINGTON, DC – A community health center in Logan County will be able to be developed as a result of new federal resources. U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced that Community Health & Wellness Partners, a medical center serving Logan County, received new resources from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to support and develop new primary care health services. The funds, made possible by the Affordable Care Act, will help serve an additional 59,806 patients statewide.

“Community health centers play a vital role in helping Ohioans obtain access to primary and preventive health care services,” said Brown.  “These new federal resources will help Community Health & Wellness Partners provide affordable and accessible health care to more of West Liberty’s children, seniors, and parents.”

Allocated through the Health Resources and Services Administration’s Health Center program, the grant will provide $837,233 to the West Liberty-based organization.
