WASHINGTON, DC – A community health center in Muskingum County will be able to be developed as a result of new federal resources. U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced that Muskingum Valley Health Centers, Inc., a medical center serving Muskingum County, received new resources from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to support and develop new primary care health services. The funds, made possible by the Affordable Care Act, will help serve an additional 59,806 patients statewide.

“Community health centers play a vital role in helping Ohioans obtain access to primary and preventive health care services,” said Brown.  “These new federal resources will help Muskingum Valley Health Centers provide affordable and accessible health care to more of Zanesville’s children, seniors, and parents.”

Allocated through the Health Resources and Services Administration’s Health Center program, the grant will provide $758,333 to the Zanesville-based organization.
