WASHINGTON, D.C. – New federal resources have been awarded to a fire department in Clark County. U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced that the Pike Township Fire & EMS in New Carlisle has been awarded resources for operations and safety by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) program.
“Our first responders put their lives on the line every day across Ohio,” said Brown. “These funds ensure that firefighters in Clark County have the resources they need to safely perform their jobs.”
This is round seven of the competitive Fiscal Year 2011 AFG announcements. Pike Township Fire & EMS was awarded $73,307.
The Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) program helps firefighters and other first responder purchase protective equipment, vehicles, and gear, according to FEMA.
