WASHINGTON, D.C. – In honor of the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today issued the following statement:
“Hispanic Heritage Month is an opportunity to celebrate the contributions of the Latino community in Ohio and across the country. I’m proud to draw special attention to the broad talents of Hispanic business and community leaders. We continue to look to the Latino community’s creative and enterprising spirit for inspiration in our nation’s recovery. I honor the richness the Hispanic cultural heritage lends our state and country this month and throughout the year.”
Hispanic Heritage Month will be celebrated through October 15th. Last month, Brown delivered the keynote address at the Ohio Latino Awards Gala, honoring the accomplishments of Ohio’s Latino community.
