WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) met this week with Maureen Boggs, Lara Didonato of New Philadelphia, and Jennifer Loman of Marietta, representatives from the Corporation for Appalachian Development (COAD), a child care resource and referral agency serving Southeast Ohio, including New Philadelphia, Marietta, and Portsmouth. The representatives attended his weekly coffee with constituents where they thanked him for working to reauthorize funding for the Children’s Hospitals Graduate Medical Education (CHGME) Payment Program, which helps children’s hospitals train resident pediatricians and pediatric specialists. COAD was joined by three other Ohio organizations concerned with child welfare: Ohio Child Care Resource and Referral Association (OCCRRA), Starting Point, and YWCA Northwest Ohio.

“It was an honor to meet with Ms. Boggs, Ms. Didonato, and Ms. Loman of the Corporation for Appalachian Development,” Brown said. “Their hard work ensures the safety and wellbeing of Ohio’s children." 

According to its website, COAD aids the residents of Ohio Appalachian region in finding quality childcare and early education. It also runs training session for child care providers.
