WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) this week met with The Ohio State University (OSU) students and Cuyahoga County natives interning in Washington, D.C. this summer through OSU’s John Glenn Fellows program. The students attended Brown’s weekly coffee with constituents in Washington, D.C.

“It was an honor to meet with these John Glenn Fellows,” Brown said. “These bright young students exemplify the intelligence and drive fostered at Ohio colleges and universities.”

The students from Cuyahoga County included:

  • Shelby Berger of Chagrin Falls
  • Mandy Chen of Seven Hills
  • Joshua Ferencik of Bay Village
  • Morgan Hammonds of Shaker Heights
  • Olivia Nejedlik of Shaker Heights
  • Alex Temple of Solon

John Glenn Fellows are The Ohio State University undergraduates chosen to participate in the university’s Washington Academic Internship Program. Fellows spend a semester in Washington, D.C. exploring public policy in their individual academic interest areas. Participants receive academic credit for completion of an internship, a policymaking and public service course, and a policy paper developed through a research seminar. The Washington Academic Internship Program is run by OSU’s John Glenn College of Public Affairs and is open to all majors.
