WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) met this week with Ohio members of Junior State of America (JSA), including TaLeah Dismuke of Miamisburg, during his weekly coffee with constituents. Dismuke visited Washington D.C. to attend JSA Georgetown Summer School. She is a rising senior at Miamisburg High School.

“TaLeah is a bright student and an involved community member,” said Brown. “It is always a pleasure to meet with Ohio’s young leaders and change-makers.”

JSA is a high school student-run civic education and leadership organization. The organization prepares students for lives of civic engagement and gives students a forum for opinion expression and idea formation. The JSA Georgetown Summer School is a three-week educational program hosted by Georgetown University in which students take courses, meet national leaders, and experience federal government first-hand in the nation’s capital.

Brown is committed to promoting leadership and civic engagement. Brown is hosting Propel Ohio, a student leadership conference, this October at The Ohio State University.
