WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) met this week with participants in the Pickaway Leadership Fellows program, which trains the next generation of political leaders in Pickaway County. The program is run by the Pickaway Community Foundation.

“It was an honor to meet with the Pickaway Leadership Fellows,” Brown said. “These promising leaders exemplify the talent and drive of Ohio public servants.”

Pickaway Leadership Fellows learn the necessary skills to serve as appointed or elected leaders in a variety of institutions including government, community groups, and business organizations. The 2014 Fellows program consists of six in-county sessions, one session studying state government in Columbus, and a trip to Washington D.C. to meet with national leaders. Fellows who successfully complete the program are included in a board candidate pool available to various appointing bodies and have gone on to serve on the Pickaway County Farm Bureau Board, as Pickaway County Engineer and as representatives of Pickaway County on the Ohio Public Works Commission.
