WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) met this week with Ohio representatives of the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), including Chelsea Kent of Mansfield, during his weekly coffee with constituents. Kent visited Washington D.C. to attend the National FCCLA Leadership Conference. She is a senior at Ontario High School and is Vice President of Development of the Ohio FCCLA State Executive Council.

“Chelsea shows the commitment of Ohio students to community service,” said Brown. “These students show great leadership in their work to strengthen Ohio’s communities.”

The FCCLA is a national family-focused career and technical student organization for high school students. The nonprofit helps students develop leadership abilities and life skills with a focus on tackling youth concerns and community issues.
