WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today praised the groundbreaking of a renovation project to update buildings at a longstanding Cincinnati orphanage. A representative from Brown’s office attended today’s ceremony, marking the beginning of construction on the school and main building at St. Aloysius orphanage.

“Throughout our nation’s history, we have shown our capacity to be a generous society based on a sense of community. This is reflected in our places of worship and through our charities and volunteerism. And the character of our state has also been shaped by the compassion of its people, like the workers and volunteers at St. Aloysius who have safeguarded children and families in need,” Brown said. “This expansion will allow St. Aloysius to expand its reach and serve even more children, adolescents, and families in the greater Cincinnati area.”
