WASHINGTON D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) this week gave an address to local students, activists, and leaders for the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s annual visit to Congressional representatives in Washington, D.C.

“From domestic issues like health care and homelessness to education and poverty to international relations, the Jewish Community has always been part of the public debate,” Brown said. “

Several high school students in the “Write On For Israel” program also attended the event.

Brown discussed budget issues, trade, and the continued fight for a safe and secure Israel.

Ohio is Israel’s 19th largest trading partner, exporting nearly $228 million worth of goods in 2010 and more than $3.1 billion since 1996.
