WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH)
announced that the United States Economic Development Administration (EDA) has awarded a $2.7 million grant
to Trumbull County for road and sewer infrastructure
improvements in the 1,000-acre Golden Triangle Industrial Area. This grant is
funded by the
American Rescue Plan, which Brown helped write
and pass.
“Thanks
to the American Rescue Plan, this investment will help ensure that Trumbull
County has the resources it needs to improve its infrastructure and grow the
local economy,” said
Brown. “I’m pleased to see the Economic Development Administration recognize
the strength of Ohio workers, and I support any effort that creates jobs in
Ohio.”
The
EDA is the only federal government agency focused exclusively on economic
development. The program is designed to provide financial assistance to
communities, and promote economic development.
EDA
grants are awarded through a competitive process based upon the application’s
merit, the applicant’s eligibility, and the availability of funds. More
information on EDA’s grant process and investment process can be found at
www.eda.gov.
