BEDFORD
HEIGHTS, OH
– Today, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) visited striking Bedford Heights
Sherwin-Williams workers, who are represented by the United Steelworkers (USW)
Local 14919, as they ask for a fair contract that honors the Dignity of Work.
“Companies
do best when they work collaboratively with the workers who make their
businesses successful. I know that Sherwin-Williams agrees with me on that and
I’m hopeful we can find a resolution to this quickly,” said Brown. “I
have worked closely with both Sherwin-Williams and the United Steelworkers for
years, and will continue to work with them to encourage a fair agreement that
benefits this proud Ohio company, its workers, and our entire community.”
After
meeting with striking workers, Brown spoke to leaders at Sherwin-Williams and
shared workers’ concerns with executives and urged a swift agreement.
Sherwin-Williams and members of Local 14919 are expected to next meet for
negotiations March 30.
