Is there an age requirement to be an intern?
Our internships are designed primarily for the educational benefit of students currently enrolled in college. Applications from high school students and rising college freshmen are not accepted.
Is the internship paid?
There are a limited number of paid internships available in my DC and state offices. We offer financial assistance based on need, which all interns are given the opportunity to apply for.
Can I get college credit for my internship?
That will depend on your college or university. We will work with you to gain college credit if it is offered through your school, as the internship is meant to be an educational experience.
If you have a specific question regarding internships in my office, please use the contact form and select "Internship Information."
The legislative process on the Senate floor is governed by a set of standing rules, a body of precedents created by rulings of presiding officers or by votes of the Senate, a variety of established and customary practices, and ad hoc arrangements the Senate makes to meet specific parliamentary and political circumstances. A knowledge of the Senate's formal rules is not sufficient to understand Senate procedure, and Senate practices cannot be understood without knowing the rules to which the practices relate.
